(Beaver Dam) The Wisconsin State Legislature recently passed a constitutional amendment question that will appear on the April ballot. The question will ask citizens if they want voter identification to be constitutionally protected. Representative Mark Born of Beaver Dam says it is currently state law. The representative says that if passed that it would be locked into the state and cement that voter ID will always be a part of elections in Wisconsin.    

(Fond du Lac) Fond du Lac County Judge Laura Lavey has sentenced 47-year-old Joshuah P. Weber to 25 years in prison for First Degree Reckless Homicide stemming from a 2020 fentanyl overdose death in the city of Fond du Lac.  Weber received 12 years of initial confinement and 13 years of extended supervision for the victim’s death that they believe died on Christmas Day and was found days later by a family member.

 (Juneau) Dodge County Human Services and Health Department urges residents to test their homes for radon. The odorless, radioactive gas naturally present in the ground can enter buildings through their foundations. One in 10 Wisconsin homes have elevated levels. Radon concentrations in the air can be measured with a test kit available from hardware stores and local public health agencies, including Dodge County’s. More information is at DailyDodge.com.

(Beaver Dam) Moraine Park Technical College has a new vice president of finance and administration. The College recently welcomed Bethany Rusch to the position. Rusch assumed her role as part of the president’s cabinet–serving as one of four executive leaders under Bonnie Baerwald. In this role, Rusch will provide strategic leadership and coordinate innovative solutions for all financial services, talent and facility functions in alignment with the College’s values and strategic direction.
