(Juneau) Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt encourages those who have a storage unit to get a trail camera due to an uptick in thefts. He adds that they can be purchased just about anywhere from online to in-person at a sporting goods store and other retailers.  

(Beaver Dam) A Columbus man was arrested for stealing a SSM Health work vehicle in Fond du Lac. The work van was left unlocked and running in the parking lot at 430 East Division Street. A license plate camera reader spotted the vehicle in Beaver Dam a short time later and the 43-year-old suspect was taken into custody by Dodge County sheriff’s deputies and officers from the Beaver Dam Police Department. 

(Columbus) Two vehicles started on fire in the city of Columbus yesterday (Thursday) afternoon. The Columbus Fire Department was dispatched to 915 West James Street around 1:29pm for a report of a vehicle fire. When crews arrived on scene, the second vehicle in the driveway had started on fire and the garage was taking on a lot of heat from the flames. Firefighters cooled the garage and extinguished the blaze in both vehicles, which were a total loss. The cause of the fire is undetermined.

(Waupun) The Waupun School District Board this week approved a resolution to pursue an operational referendum for the April ballot. The question will ask taxpayers to authorize the district to exceed the state-imposed revenue limit by $900,000 annually. This would begin in the 2025-2026 school year and end in 2027-2028. In the coming months, the Waupun School District will host multiple community informational sessions to provide details about the proposed plan, answer questions, and encourage feedback.

(Fox Lake) The Fox Lake Railway Depot is a historical site that dates back to 1884 and was constructed by the Milwaukee Road. The depot was once a busy place for passengers, including resort patrons until the 1950s and continued to serve freight until 1970. City Administrator Kelly Crombie says the depot is now a museum and is used by the Fox Lake Historical Society for various history related events. He says it is a great asset for the city to have.
