(Beaver Dam) Dodge County Sheriff Dale Schmidt says parents should share the Run, Hide, or Fight protocol with their kids following the school shooting in Madison. The first thing you should do if there is an active threat is to run. If escape is not possible then hide and block doors as well as windows. As a last resort and if your life is in danger, fight.
(Beaver Dam) Local authorities are reminding residents to stay safe and take precautions when on ice. Beaver Dam Fire Chief Michael Wesle says people can find more ice safety tips on the department’s Facebook page. For people unfamiliar with ice depth and ice fishing, he recommends they talk to people with experience such as friends, family, and even a bait shop.
(Beaver Dam) As temperatures continue to drop, the City of Beaver Dam officially winterized its public parks and has opened reservations for park shelters for the 2025 season. Reservations can be made online through the city’s Parks and Recreation Department website or in person at the department office.
(Juneau) The Dodge County Land and Water Conservation Department’s annual tree and shrub sale has started. Several species of trees and shrubs are available for sale including: White Oak, Red Oak, Burr Oak, Sugar Maple, Silver Maple, and Elderberry. Orders for trees and shrubs are being taken until January 31st.
(Columbus) The Columbus Council has selected Crexendo to be the municipality’s phone service provider. The city will be paying approximately $893 dollars and 15 cents per month for the service. The city currently pays approximately $726 dollars and 96 cents per month with two thirds of that being taxes and fees.
