(Lomira) Authorities have identified the two people killed in a head-on crash in the township of Lomira Wednesday evening. Dodge County sheriff’s deputies received reports of a vehicle driving north in the southbound lanes on Interstate 41 near Highway 67 around 6:20pm. Shortly after calls started coming in that there had been a two-vehicle crash. The initial investigation showed that a Subaru SUV, driving by 82-year-old Grace Campagna from Campbellsport, was traveling the wrong way when it struck a Honda minivan. The operator of the minivan was identified as 34-year-old Ying Vang from Oshkosh. Both Vang and Campagna were pronounced dead at the scene. There were no other occupants in either vehicle. The crash remains under investigation.

(Hubbard) An Iron Ridge man charged with his 8th Operating While Under the Influence offense is heading to trial after waiving his right to a preliminary hearing this week. Dennis Grosenick was allegedly under the influence when deputies were called to the town of Hubbard on November 11th. Grosenick’s vehicle was reportedly parked in the middle of the road and the 72-year-old had slurred speech. Authorities say when they searched the vehicle, they found an open bottle of liquor that was three-quarters full. If convicted, Grosenick faces up to 12 years in prison. An arraignment hearing is scheduled for December 26th.

(Beaver Dam) The Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation recently gave grant funds to support a local youth program. The nonprofit announced that they have provided a $1,000 grant to the Beaver Dam Fire Department Cadet Program. The grant money is going towards new gear for the cadets such as boots, gloves, and turnout gear.

(Juneau) A human development and relationships educator with the University of Madison – Dodge County Extension was recently honored for her work. During the annual Extension Conference, held in November, Patti Carroll was recognized for her commitment and contributions to the Wisconsin Idea and communities in Dodge County. This was the second year since Extension celebrated its employees with several award categories and Carroll earned the Excellence in Education and Outreach Award.

(Wisconsin) The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is reminding wild turkey hunters that applications for the 2024 spring season are due soon. The applications need to be returned no later than by 11:59pm on December 10th. Applicants may choose up to two time periods and zone combinations that they would like to hunt. As a third choice, applicants may choose one zone in which they will accept a harvest authorization for any period. A link to more information is available at DailyDodge.com.
