(Horicon) The Horicon Police Department say four individuals of interest are in custody following a burglary at a local business. Police responded to a burglar alarm shortly after 4am yesterday (Thursday) morning at Marshland Pharmacy. Upon arrival, officers confirmed that a burglary had occurred and requested back up from the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office. More information will be released when deemed appropriate.
(Waupun) The Waupun Police Department has released details of a two-month invasion of privacy investigation that led to an arrest of a Milwaukee man. Demarius Glover-Smith allegedly recorded a 14-year-old girl in the bathroom stalls of a local business in September. A search of the 28-year-old’s devices reportedly uncovered roughly 47-hundred files in various hidden and locked folders. Authorities say the files consisted of various forms of pornography, erotica, bestiality, and images that showed Glover-Smith following women around and taking inappropriate photos without their consent.
(Waupun) Waupun Fire Chief B.J. DeMaa has a helpful tip for those who are not familiar with or have never used a fire extinguisher. He says remembering the acronym P.A.S.S. can come in handy. The P stands for pull the pin, A stands for aim, S stands for squeeze, and the second S stands for sweep. The fire chief says the acronym is easy to follow and very straight forward.
(Beaver Dam) Wisconsin Representative Mark Born has been re-appointed co-chair of the state’s budget writing committee. The announcement was recently made by Assembly Speaker Robin Vos that the Beaver Dam Republican will once again serve on the Joint Committee on Finance. The state representative was elected to the Assembly in 2012 and has served as a member of the Joint Finance Committee since 2017. Born was appointed co-chair of the committee in December of 2020.
(Beaver Dam) Residents are invited to Beaver Dam Park Village Shopping Center’s Holiday Hoopla tomorrow (Saturday). The event runs from 9am to 2pm. The day includes vendors, artisans and crafters and a silent auction. Santa and his elf will be there from noon to 2pm. The Park Village Shopping Center is located at the corner of Highways 33 and 151 in the former Hallmark/Arlo’s space.
(Beaver Dam) Wisconsin Lottery officials have announced the winner of a prize-winning ticket sold at a Beaver Dam Kwik Trip. Thomas Tlougan of Lowell is the winner of the $125,000 Holly Jolly Raffle Lotto game top prize. Purchased at the Kwik Trip on 2006 North Spring Street, Tlougan claimed his big win on Tuesday at the Madison Lottery office.
