(Friendship) Fond du Lac County authorities say there were no signs of injury or trauma to a body discovered partially submerged in Lake Winnebago Sunday. An autopsy was completed Monday, and detectives are notifying next of kin. The victim has been identified as a 57-year-old Fond du Lac man but his name will not be released until a further investigation is conducted. Sheriff’s officials say foul play is not suspected at this time.

(Beaver Dam) A Clyman woman is accused of attacking two Beaver Dam hospital nurses. While Kiara Ivans was being treated at the hospital in March she allegedly became verbally abusive, and staff determined she needed to be placed in restraints. According to the criminal complaint, a nurse was kicked in the chest by Ivans and another was kicked in the head causing her left cheek to swell and bruise. If convicted, the 20-year-old faces up to 12 years in prison. An initial appearance is scheduled for May 9th.

(Poynette) The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources has announced that the Columbia County shooting range improvement project will begin this summer. Work will include increasing sound mitigation to the 100-yard and 50-yard rifle ranges and the 50-yard shotgun range. The range, located near Poynette, will remain open during construction. Specific construction dates are not yet scheduled because the work is dependent upon weather conditions.

(Dane County) Public health officials in the Madison area say they are not worried about the uptick in coronavirus cases – yet. Public Health Madison and Dane County raised the local coronavirus activity level to “medium,” but Dane County’s high vaccination rate means there’s no cause for serious concern. – WRN

(Dodge County) Dodge County’s COVID activity level remains in the low category, which means masks are not required. Local health officials recorded four additional COVID cases Monday with one new hospitalization. So far, 52.6-percent of Dodge County residents have had at least one dose of the vaccine while 50.4-percent have had both shots. Just over 27-percent have gotten an additional booster dose.

(Waupun) A private school in Waupun is moving forward with plans to expand their facility. A supporting constituency of Central Wisconsin Christian recently approved the Legacy Vision Project, on a 115-to-1 vote. The $16.9-million-dollar overall plan will increase capacity at the middle school and add 15-thousand square feet of elementary classroom space. Excel of Fond du Lac is serving as the project’s architect while WDS Construction of Beaver Dam is the general contractor. A link to more information is available at DailyDodge.com.
