New Developments Address Housing Need in Fox Lake

(FOX LAKE) Two developments are underway in Fox Lake, which should help meet local demand for housing. Crews are building 72 new apartments as well as eight single-family homes in a new subdivision.

“It’ll be great to have some more housing in the area,” said Fox Lake City Administrator Kelly Crombie.” There’s nothing for sale right now in Fox Lake. “Anything that’s listed is sold in two days. Seeing some more housing supply come in will be good for the area.”

Private developers are building the homes, and the city is putting in the infrastructure, made possible with a grant from Dodge County.

“As we grow, the county gets more tax, the city gets more stuff. Everybody benefits from it, so it works out really well,” said Fox Lake Mayor Tom Bednarek.

The first apartments should be ready to rent next year. Crombie and Bednarek appeared on Wednesday’s “Community Comment’ program.
