The H.H. Derleth Field bleacher replacement project on the campus of Beaver Dam High School is moving along. The home side bleachers were destroyed when a storm rolled through the city in early June. The bleachers and new press box were installed by construction crews last week. Beaver Dam High School Athletic Director Melissa Gehring tells DailyDodge.com that the construction portion of the project should be complete in the next couple of weeks. After that, electrical and finish work will need to be done. Gehring anticipates the entire project to be complete by the end of October.
The former bleachers were erected in 1980 when they replaced the seating area ironically also destroyed during a storm at the previous athletic field site.
