(BEAVER DAM) It’s a big night in Beaver Dam tonight with the annual National Night Out at Swan Park. The event promotes the goal of a community free of crime and drugs.
This year, the Beaver Dam Police Department will be demonstrating new indoor drones.
“If kids have never seen how that works before, they can actually put the goggles on and you can get an immersive virtual reality view of what the drone sees,” said Lt. Jeremiah Johnson.
The fire department will offer kids a “Touch a Truck” experience. Dozens of public safety agencies, businesses, churches, and non-profits will offer information, demonstrations, entertainment, and food.
National Night Out in Beaver Dam is from 5 p.m. ‘til 8 p.m. There are other National Night Out events in Horicon, Juneau, and many other communities.
