Nancy’s Notions Sewing Weekend Underway In Beaver Dam

(Beaver Dam) Expect Beaver Dam to be a bit more crowded than usual over the next three days.  Nancy’s Notions Sewing Weekend kicks off today. Melissa McCoy, Human Resources Generalist for Nancy’s Notions, says the event features multiple vendors and presenters along with demonstrations, make-it-take-it classes, and half-day sit-and-sew classes. While a large chunk of the action will happen at Nancy’s Notions warehouse location at 333 Beichl Avenue, there will also be events throughout the community. The event first got started over 30 years ago when Nancy’s Notions founder Nancy Zieman saw the large amount of interest for sewing tools and related notions. McCoy says there will be a small tribute to Zieman who died last year. She says a tribute area is set up among the demo booths in the warehouse where people can learn more about Nancy and her impact on the community. There will also be a social media team collecting images and videos of the event. McCoy says the weekend-long show draws over 4,000 people each year from around the world.  Nancy’s Notions Sewing Weekend runs through Saturday. More information is at www.nancysnotions.com
