8/15/17 – Authorities have released the name of the person killed in a semi-versus-van accident from Friday afternoon in the Columbia County Town of Randolph. According to a press release issued yesterday, Christine Novak of Lake Geneva died Saturday from her injuries. The 40-year-old Novak was driving a van pulling a camper that was northbound on Highway 73. She was struck by a truck that was eastbound on County Highway E that had failed to stop at the stop sign. There were seven children in the van; one sustained serious injuries while three had minor injuries. The driver of the semi was identified yesterday as 39-year-old Patrick Craft of Collins, Mississippi. Both drivers were trapped and the jaws of life were needed to remove them. The crash and any pending charges remain under investigation.
