Murder Suspect’s Arraignment Rescheduled Due To Hearing Problems

4/13/17 – A Fox Lake man accused of murdering his girlfriend had his arraignment hearing postponed for a third time yesterday. Laverne Ware Jr, who is charged with felony First Degree Intentional Homicide, initially sought different council when he was in court in February and his rescheduled arraignment hearing was postponed again last month. In court yesterday, Ware’s attorney and the victim’s mother appeared by telephone. Prosecutors brought up the 27-year-old’s competency and said it might be a factor that is affecting the 36-year-olds ability to hear. Ware’s attorney requested the new arraignment date. On December 4, Ware’s 27-year-old girlfriend, Sesalie Dixon, was found in the cab of Ware’s pick-up truck inside a garage with a gunshot wound to the head. Two others are charged with Aiding a Felon in connection with Dixon’s death, Ware’s mother Marjorie Jones and Jones’ boyfriend Vernon Mickey. A fourth arraignment hearing is on the calendar for May 17.
