(Waupun) Moraine Park Technical College recently welcomed two new members to their district board. Kathy Schlieve of Waupun and Rob Johnson of West Bend will serve as additional member representatives with terms expiring in June 2023. Schlieve, who is the current city administrator for Waupun, says her commitment to higher education formed while watching her mother pursue a nursing degree from MPTC. She says she truly believes that technical education is a pathway to opportunity and a strong quality of life. Schlieve is also a member of the Board of Directors for Envision Greater Fond du Lac, Destination Lake Winnebago Region and the Waupun Area Chamber of Commerce. Johnson currently serves as a non-profit representative for West Bend Community and was president for the Noon Kiwanis Club in both Beaver Dam and West Bend. He says he has had the pleasure of collaborating with MPTC to engage students either in practicum or internships with the YMCA. Johnson adds that he is proud to now be part of the District Board and looks forward to the opportunities that lie ahead. Sworn-in alongside Schlieve and Johnson was Mike Schwab of Jackson, retaining his elected official member spot.
