(Fond du lac) A first place finish at Lab Midwest’s Team Robotics Competition has paid off for some students from Moraine Park Technical College. Students Anthony Biel, Timothy Vukosich, and Gregory Van Slyke participated in the Team Robotics Competition this fall, which is part of the Wisconsin Manufacturing and Technology Show, the largest such show in the state. For their efforts and first place finish the team was presented with an award from Lab Midwest and Fanuc earlier this month along with some new equipment for the college’s Electromechanical program.
“The recognition is awesome, and I’m glad we were able to win some new equipment for our program,” says Biel who had previously placed second at the same competition in high school. As part of the competition teams were given three hours to complete a series of tasks using an LR Mate 6-Axis Robot, and judged on their ability to complete the objectives, the complexity of their programming, teamwork, and general robotics knowledge. Moraine Park Technical College has campuses in Fond du Lac, West Bend, and Beaver Dam. More information about MPTC can be found at morainepark.edu.
