(Beaver Dam) Moraine Park Technical College has postponed their commencement ceremony due to the coronavirus pandemic, along with a change of venue. The original date was scheduled for May 16 but has now been pushed back to June 27 at 10am and will be held at the Beaver Dam High School. Moraine Park President Bonnie Baerwald says they recognize how significant the commencement ceremony is to their graduates and they are hopeful by postponing the date, it will allow everyone to celebrate together. Beaver Dam Mayor Becky Glewen, MPTC graduate Barbara Turner and alumni Steve Peterson have been invited to speak. Regalia will be available for purchase through the College’s online bookstore. College officials say if social distancing guidelines are still in place, further extended or enhanced, the ceremony would be canceled. They say if that does happen, graduating students will be offered the opportunity to participate in the 2021 commencement ceremony.
