MPTC Extends Spring Break By One Week In Response To Coronavirus

(Beaver Dam) In response to the rapidly evolving coronavirus pandemic, Moraine Park Technical College announced Friday that they are extending spring break one additional week. The campus will now observe the spring holiday beginning Monday, March 16th through Friday, March 27th. Classes are currently scheduled to resume on Monday, March 30th. College officials say extending spring break will aid in efforts to protect the health and safety of Moraine Park students, staff and community as well as assist local, state and national efforts to slow the spread of COVID-19. They add that they are following the Wisconsin Department of Health Services and Centers for Disease Control (CDC) and Prevention recommendations and guidelines to aid in decision-making. As new information emerges, Moraine Park’s leadership response team will continue to monitor, respond and plan, this includes deciding how the College will move forward with instruction for the remainder of the spring semester. As of now, MPTC campuses will remain open and continue to provide services as needed during the extended break. College officials encourage practicing social distancing where possible and continue to follow hygiene efforts recommended by the CDC.
