MPTC Considers Multi Million Referendum

(Beaver Dam) Moraine Park Technical College is considering a $55-million-dollar referendum in November. The Moraine Park District Board took public comments during a hearing at their most recent meeting in Fond du Lac and will make a decision at their August 19th meeting about whether to stage a referendum. Moraine Park President Bonnie Baerwald says if they do put on a referendum they will have community listening sessions, post information on social media and will also approach service organizations about doing presentations. Baerwald says they primarily serve Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Dodge, and Washington counties and parts of six other counties so they have a lot of people to inform about the possible referendum. If successful, the $55-million-dollar referendum will allow Moraine Park to borrow funds to enhance and grow MPTC facilities to meet the needs of business and industry in the region through four major projects.
