Motorist Pronounced Dead After Hustisford Crash May Have Had Medical Episode

(Hustisford) The driver in a single-vehicle accident in the Town of Hustisford early Saturday morning was pronounced dead at the scene but authorities are not saying the crash contributed to the death. The Dodge County Sheriff’s Office received reports of the incident at 11:13am.

The initial investigation indicates the car was southbound on County Highway E, coming from the Village of Hustisford, when it left the roadway. The vehicle continued through ditches and over a driveway, crossed over State Highway 60, crashed through a fence at LKQ Smart Parts, and came to rest after striking a storage container on the property.

The driver was found unresponsive and life-saving attempts were made by numerous medical personnel. Ultimately, the driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

Observations by eyewitnesses indicate that the driver may have had a medical episode during the crash. The driver was the only occupant of the vehicle, and no other vehicles were involved. The crash remains under investigation and it has not been determined if the death was the result of injuries or due to another medical problem.

Assisting at the scene were the Hustisford First Responders, Mayville EMS, Watertown Paramedics, Flight for Life, and the Sheriff Chaplain. Identification of the driver will be released pending notification of family members.
