(Beaver Dam) The Moraine Park Technical College’s Medical Laboratory Technician program was recently awarded with a 10-year accreditation. In order to earn this designation MPTC had to meet the standards set by the National Accrediting Agency for Clinical Laboratory Science (NAACLS) and had to show compliance by having policies that support students’ needs, teaching excellence and on-going monitoring of academic data. The process also involved a two-step process, first was an overview that explained how the College complies with NAACLS standards. The second is an on-sit visit that would locate any deficiencies that would need correcting by the College, Moraine Park’s report did not indicate any deficiencies. Medical Laboratory Technician Program Director Linda Bau (bow) says this is an extreme honor and that the accreditation recognizes their efforts to support the laboratory profession by providing students with the best educational experience possible. The 10-year accreditation that Moraine Park was given is the maximum time frame that can be granted.
