Moraine Park Signs Articulation Agreement

(Beaver Dam) Moraine Park Technical College President Bonnie Baerwald and Lakeland University President Dr. Beth Borgen signed an articulation agreement this week. The agreement allows those who get an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree at MPTC to transfer those credits to Lakeland University toward a four-year degree.

That would allow those students to start at Lakeland as a confirmed junior saving thousands of dollars annually compared to private or public four-year college. Baerwald says they hope to put similar agreements in place with other four-year universities including the UW-Oshkosh, UW-Green Bay, UW-Milwaukee, and Marian University.

She says it took about eight months to put the agreement together and they had to get permission from the UW Board of Regents last month because of statutory language embedded in state statute since the early 1970s.
