(Beaver Dam) Moraine Park’s Bootcamp Program is boasting some success in combating the skilled worker shortage felt across much of the state. As part of the Moraine park Technical College Manufacturing Skills Academy, the program offers free sessions to participants, teaches them skills that are unique to a particular career pathway, and connects students with area employers. The program combines a 144 hour paid internship with coursework to create a unique opportunity for individuals seeking career options.
The fall 2019 CNC and Welding program recently saw the graduation of 20 students, adding to the 397 participants the bootcamp has seen since it’s induction in 2012. Featured speakers at the graduation were Dominick Rome of West Lake, graduate of the CNC program, and Elise Winkel of Fond du Lac, graduate of the welding program.
The college will be hosting informational sessions about the program at their Beaver Dam Campus on January 7th, their West Bend location on January 9th, and in Fond du Lac January 13th, 15th, and 16th. These sessions are required first steps for those seeking to participate in the college’s boot camp program.
