(Beaver Dam) Marshfield Medical Center – Beaver Dam has begun scheduling COVID vaccine booster shots. Authorization to do so was granted by the Wisconsin Department of Health Services. Booster shots are for those who got both doses of the Pfizer vaccine at least six months ago and are at higher risk for getting or spreading the virus. According to the state health service, those who should get a booster shot are people 65 years or older, live in a long-term care setting or are 50 to 64 years old who have certain underlying medical conditions. Under their guidelines, health officials say those 18 to 49 years old who have underlying conditions as well as those 18 to 64 who are at higher risk can also get a booster dose. People getting their booster shot will also be given the option to get the seasonal flu vaccine at the time of their appointment.
Those who qualify can schedule their booster dose of the Pfizer vaccine by calling 1-855-908-5029.
