Milwaukee Woman Bound Over For Dodge County Chase

(LeRoy) A Milwaukee woman accused of running from a Dodge County sheriff’s deputy is heading to trial. Takeyra Jones waived her right to a preliminary hearing this week on one felony count of Attempting To Flee or Elude and Officer, which carries a maximum penalty of three-and-a-half years in prison if convicted.  The deputy stopped the 21-year-old’s vehicle last month for a speeding violation on County Highway Z in the Town of Leroy. Jones allegedly provided the deputy with a false name and then fled, sparking a pursuit that last over 13 miles at times reaching speeds of 100-miles-per-hour before the pursuit was called off. Authorities later determined the suspect vehicle was a rental car and traced it to Jones, even matching purple hair in her driver’s license photo. Arraignment is next month.
