Milwaukee Resident Arrested After Five Mile Pursuit With Fond Du Lac Authorities

(Fond du Lac) A suspect collided head-on with a Fond du Lac County sheriff’s deputy squad car during a five mile chase on New Year’s Eve. City of Fond du Lac police were called to the 300 block of Western Avenue around 8:25am Saturday for an assault complaint, possibly involving a firearm and a stolen vehicle.

The vehicle was later located but sped away before stopping abruptly. Two Fond du Lac residents exited and were arrested. The pursuit continued and sheriff’s deputies were called to assist due to the high-risk nature of the incident. Law enforcement pursued the vehicle through numerous city streets.

The chase ended when the vehicle struck a deputy squad car head-on at high speed on West Rolling Meadows Drive, causing both vehicles to sustain significant and disabling damage. The suspect attempted to flee on foot but was quickly taken into custody. The 30-year-old Milwaukee resident is facing numerous charges including Fleeing and First-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety.

The deputy driving the squad involved in the crash was treated and released from St. Agnes Hospital for their injuries. Authorities are still investigating the incident.
