Milwaukee Man Pleas To Lesser Charges

(Theresa) A Milwaukee man who ran from Theresa police was sentenced yesterday (Thursday). Malik Berry was initially charged with felony Fleeing but pled to reduced misdemeanor charges of Failing to Stop and Bail Jumping. The 24-year-old fled from an officer in April, traveling 80-miles-per-hour in a 55-mile-per-hour zone. The suspect vehicle continued to accelerate and passed a school bus illegally on a double yellow center line. The pursuit ended when the vehicle reached a dead end road. Berry was identified as the driver. He admitted to law enforcement that he had a revoked license due to an OWI arrest which was why he did not stop. Berry was sentenced to ten days in jail and placed on probation for one year.
