Merrill Man Charged In Pursuit, Standoff With Fond Du Lac And Dodge County Authorities

(Fond du Lac) A Merrill man involved in a 14-mile chase and a multi-hour standoff with Fond du Lac and Dodge County authorities earlier this month has been charged. Louis Stone is facing six felony counts including First and Second Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety, False Imprisonment, Attempted Battery to Law Enforcement and Fleeing. Thirty-year-old Paulina Meshigaud of Arbor Vitae is also facing a felony charge of First Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety for her alleged role. Stone is accused of arming himself with a large butcher’s knife after the pursuit ended south of Highway 49 in Dodge County on March 9th. The 34-year-old allegedly removed a baby from the vehicle and held the child in front of him while brandishing the knife. The baby was not injured. Stone is under the care of medical professionals and has not been booked into jail yet.
