(Oak Grove) A Menasha-area man made his initial appearance in a Dodge County courtroom on charges he fled the scene of a crash in Oak Grove. Justin Enge of the village of Harrison is facing one felony count of Hit and Run.
Authorities were dispatched to Highway 33 near the area of W6711 in November for a report of a vehicle that was rear-ended. The victim reported that the suspect vehicle drove off but they were able to catch its license plate which allegedly led law enforcement to Enge. Deputies were able to locate Enge travelling on Highway 28 in the Town of Theresa and took him into custody.
According to the criminal complaint, Enge denied crashing into any vehicles. When told by officers that the plate provided by the victim matched his, Enge reportedly did not have an explanation. The victim did report having back pain following the crash.
If convicted, the 39-year-old faces no more than nine months behind bars. A signature bond was set at $1,000 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for March 3rd.
