McFarland Woman Heading To Trial For Waupun Police Chase

5/5/17 – A McFarland woman will proceed to trial on charges that she sparked a pursuit with Waupun Police while she was under the influence of cold medicines. Kathryn Brown waived her right to a preliminary hearing yesterday on a felony count of Fleeing an Officer. Officers attempted to pull over Brown for driving ten miles above the speed limit in March but she kept driving. The 62-year-old allegedly reached speeds of up to 70-miles-per-hour before spike stripes were deployed near Brownsville. After her tires were flattened, police boxed her car in. Authorities say they found 18 empty bottles of Robitussin cough medicine in her vehicle that had all been purchased in the past three weeks. If convicted, Brown faces up to three-and-a-half years in prison. Brown will be arraigned later this month.
