(Mayville) Mayville Police Officer Nicholas Weber was recognized this week for saving the life of a citizen who overdosed on drugs. Police Chief Ryan Vossekuil says on May 11 Weber responded to the 100 block of Bridge Street where a 32-year-female had overdosed on heroin. Vossekuil says Weber administered Narcan which was able to reverse the effects of the drug and buy enough time for EMS services to arrive on scene. He says the officer’s quick thinking saved the woman’s life. Weber was presented with his first Lifesaving Award during Monday night’s Common Council meeting. Vossekuil says the officer will wear the pin on his uniform for the rest of his career.
