Mayville Man Seriously Injured During Snowmobile Race In Minnesota

(Mayville) A Mayville man was seriously injured following a snowmobile accident in Minnesota over the weekend. Cass County Sheriff Bryan Welk says his dispatchers received reports of the accident in the area of Jacobs Road, near rural Lake Shore, around 1:50pm Sunday.

He says deputies and first responders arrived on scene and learned that the 26-year-old snowmobile operator was a participant in the Nisswa 100 Snowmobile Race. Welk says the man crashed on the racecourse. Medical aid was immediately initiated by a number of agencies that were staging the event.

The man was transported by helicopter to a Twin Cities area hospital with serious injuries. Welk says the incident remains under investigation.
