Mayville Man Makes Initial Appearance On Fleeing Charge

(Hubbard) A Mayville man charged with running from authorities in Dodge County made his initial appearance in court Monday. Kyle Wiese is facing a felony charge of Fleeing. On July 25th, a deputy observed a northbound vehicle on Highway 67 driving nearly 20-miles-per-hour over the posted 55-mile-per-hour speed limit in the Township of Hubbard. The deputy activated his emergency lights but the vehicle accelerated away. As the pursuit headed towards Mayville, the vehicle was clocked going in excess of 90-miles-per-hour and at times near 100. Law enforcement continued to pursue the vehicle as it fled through Kekoskee, then towards Brownsville and eventually terminated the chase when the suspect entered Fond du Lac County. A DOT records search of the vehicle’s license plate allegedly tied it to Wiese. According to the criminal complaint, authorities learned that Wiese made contact with relatives who assisted handing him over to authorities. If convicted, the 22-year-old faces three-and-a-half years in prison. A signature bond was set at $1,000 and a competency evaluation was ordered.
