Mayville Man Charged In Second Gas Station Robbery

(Mayville) A Mayville man is facing more felony charges in connection with area gas station robberies. Paul Lehmann was charged Wednesday with Theft of Movable Property, accused of taking money from the Mayville BP on Horicon Street December 25. The 38-year-old reportedly wore a face mask when he grabbed money out of the cash register, apologized to the clerk and fled in his vehicle toward Horicon. He was previously charged with Armed Robbery with the Threat of Force after he allegedly entered the Shell Gas Station on North Main Street on May 8 and told the clerk that he had a gun. In that incident, the clerk told the suspect to pull the gun out if he actually had one. In talking with Lehmann, the deputy noted that he had track marks on his arms indicative of heroin use. Lehmann allegedly admitted his involvement and conceded that he does not own a gun. A judge will decide next week if there is enough evidence to order a trial for the May robbery while Lehmann will make his initial appearance for the December theft on June 18.
