(Beaver Dam) A graduate of Mayville High School was recently named as Moraine Park Technical College District Student Ambassador. Haley Van Raden, from West Bend, graduated from Mayville in 2019 and went to MPTC to pursue a degree in Information Technology. As a result of her high academic achievements in high school, Van Raden earned a Technical Excellence Scholarship from the state. She is enrolled in a dual degree program, working toward associate degrees in both IT Web Design and Development and IT Mobile Application Development. Van Raden says it is her goal to eventually earn an internship in her field, gain more knowledge and one day open up her own business. To be eligible for the distinction, students must be nominated by a faculty or staff member at the college and give a presentation to a selection committee. As District Ambassador, Van Raden will actively serve as a member of student government, advocate for Moraine Park and the Wisconsin Technical College System, assist with college activities and events and represent the student body within the community. Van Raden says she is honored to be named District Ambassador and looks forward to helping students have a voice. In total, six students were in the final consideration for District Ambassador.
