Mayville Football Ready To Contend Again In 2023

After back to back appearances in the state championship game, the Mayville High School football team is ready to contend again in 2023.

“We had a good summer. “ Cardinal coach Scott Hilber told 1430 ESPN. “Our biggest thing is we are just struggling to kind of find energy.  We had a lot of emotional leaders on our team last year.  It wasn’t really hard for that team to get up. We are still waiting for those leaders to step up and get the energy up on our team. The boys worked hard.  They prepared well for this year.  We like our athletic depth, we just got to find a way to bring the high intensity and play football the way Mayville football has played the last couple of year.”

The Cardinals dropped their season opener to perennial power Cedar-Grove Belgium 24-13.   Mayville hosts Horicon-Hustisford on Friday night.
