Mayville Common Council Signs Off On Low Interest Loans For Flooding Hardship

(Mayville) The city of Mayville will be offering assistance for homeowners who experienced hardship due to severe storms last month. The common council Monday night approved low interest loans for flooding hardship. Residents can take a loan for up to $10-thousand-dollars to be paid back at two-and-a-half-percent over a five year period. The council approved to lend up to $50-thousand-dollars towards the program. City Treasurer Greg Zipfel says six people have inquired about the loans and three have said they would be interested in moving forward. Residents have up to 60 days to apply. Mayor Rob Boelk tells us that this is a necessary measure to help the citizens of Mayville. He says it is only right for the city to step up and help people in a hardship situation.
