Beaver Dam senior Maty Wilke tore the ACL in her right knee in Monday night’s 72-33 win over Edgewood. The University of Wisconsin recruit was injured on a put-back basket early in the 1st half. Wilke has been a part of the Golden Beaver girls basketball team’s last two WIAA Division Two State championship teams in 2018 and 2019 and helped the Beavers return to the state tournament last season before COVID cancelled the event.
Wilke was named WBCA Division Two First Team All-State in both 2019 & 2020 and Honorable Mention All-State in 2018.
She is rated the #1 player in the state’s class of 2021 by wissports.net’s Norbert Durst and recently signed her National Letter of Intent to play college basketball and the University of Wisconsin.
Through eight games this season Wilke was averaging a team high 21.8 points per game.
Recovery time is expected to be nine to twelve months.
