(Beaver Dam) Officials with Marshfield Medical Center – Beaver Dam are providing some clarification to its health system lifting masking requirements for employees, patients, and visitors. Starting Monday those going in for a checkup or lab tests in any Marshfield Clinic facility do not need to wear a mask.
However, exceptions include Hillside Manor which will continue to manage masking requirements as outlined by guidelines set forth by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services. UW Clinics located in the hospital’s Medical Office Building also requires masking.
Departments that serve immunocompromised or specialty patients will return to pre-COVID policy and procedures for masking. Departments and medical procedures that wear masks as part of its normal practice, such as during surgeries, will continue to do so.
Officials say people may still choose to wear masks inside Marshfield Clinics and the health system will support their choice. They add that staff will wear a mask if requested.
The masking requirements had been in place since the start of the pandemic in 2020, along with other requirements for visitor restrictions and patient testing – those items were lifted in March.
