Marsh Haven Nature Center Completes Key Projects Thanks To Grant Funds

(Waupun) Thanks to grant funds; Marsh Haven Nature Center completed two key projects this year. The non-profit organization is about three miles east of Waupun.

The Nature Center offers environmental education programs both onsite and offsite, roughly three miles of hiking trails, and a Vine/Griffith Education Building with many interactive displays for the public.

Through financial sponsorship of the Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation and Compeer Financial, the organization installed new trail signs and a new boardwalk for public use. The trails signs, which include three trailhead signs and five directional signs, assist visitors while out on the trails and helps clarify the rules of the park while visiting.

The wider boardwalk, located at the property’s north end, allows for better access for utility and maintenance vehicles and larger groups of visitors to use the trails for hiking or programs.

Officials with Marsh Haven say with the increased access it enables them to maintain the trails more efficiently for groups to enjoy. They add that both projects have enhanced the quality of experience for visitors as well as help them fulfill their mission of providing a place where nature is appreciated, celebrated, and conserved for future generations.
