Marlene A. Schultz, age 83, died peacefully on Feb. 14, 2019 at Randolph Health Services.
A private family graveside service will be held on Sunday, Feb. 24, 2019 in Riverside Memorial Park in Fox Lake.
Marlene was born on Nov. 9, 1935 in Packwaukee, WI the daughter of Clarence and Sara (Winkler) Yach. Her family moved to Fox Lake in 1946 and was a 1953 graduate of Fox Lake High School. Marlene was united in marriage to Darrell Schultz on April 27, 1955 at the Rev. Wickman residence in Beaver Dam. She was employed with Schaller’s in Waupun and then with Green Giant in Fox Lake. While employed with Green Giant, she worked in the Ag Research Dept. for several years and then as a bookkeeper until her retirement in 1978, when they closed the Fox Lake plant. Marlene enjoyed going to the casino to play the slots and bingo. She was an avid bowler, having bowled for the former Pork ‘N Twink’s Bar and loved a good evening of playing cards with their group of card playing friends. Marlene and Darrell loved to travel, having gone on many bus tours. Over the years they were able to make it to all 50 states. Marlene was a member of the former First Congregational Church in Fox Lake, the Fox Lake Fire Dept. Auxiliary and the Badger Shrine Club. She was also a member of the Robert W. Ginther American Legion Aux. Unit 521 in Fox Lake.
Marlene will be sadly missed and mourned by her husband of 63 years, Darrell Schultz of Fox Lake; her two sons, Mark (Diana) Schultz of Beaver Dam and Brent (Liz) Schultz of Rockford, IL; her grandchildren, Stephanie (David) Longseth, Eric (Kadi) Schultz, Sara Schultz (fiancé, Mac Robinson), Logan and Hailey Schultz (fiancé, Devin Bitner); her great grandchildren, Lukas, Nolan, Colin and Aydra Longseth; her sister, Darlene Baldwin of Morehead, MN; her brother-in-law, Glenn (Kathleen) Schultz of Beaver Dam; nieces, nephews, several other relatives and dear friends.
Marlene was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren, Spenser Alexander and Dustin Michael Schultz; and one brother-in-law, Howard Baldwin.
Marlene’s family extends a heartfelt and deep appreciation to the nurses and staff of both Randolph Health Services and Agnesian Hospice Hope, for the loving care given to Marlene.
