Man In Custody in Toddler Killings

7/7/11 – Madison Police say a 28-year-old man turned himself in early Wednesday, after two of his girlfriend’s toddlers were found dead in a car. David Hoem was arrested for violating a previous parole. But police believe he’s the one who killed two young brothers, ages 3-and-4. Authorities would not say how they died, or exactly where they were killed. The car was discovered at a receiving entrance at Covance, a drug development services firm on Madison’s east side. The company was quick to point out that it had no relationship between the suspect or the vehicle that was found there. Police say they’re investigating the deaths as a double homicide – and that probe is continuing. Officials said Hoem turned himself in around 1am morning, at the request of relatives who had talked to him on his cell phone.
