The body of a central Wisconsin man has been pulled from a lake in Washington County. Sheriff’s deputies said 76-year-old Leon Peneau of Port Edwards was visiting relatives on Druid Lake when he jumped in from a pier, and struggled before going under. His body was found late yesterday afternoon about 30 yards from where he jumped in, and about 50 yards from the shore. Efforts to revive him were not successful. An autopsy was planned, but officials said Peneau’s death appeared to be an accident.
