Man Accused Of Taking Vehicle In Waupun Makes Initial Court Appearance

(Waupun) A man accused of taking another person’s vehicle by force in Waupun made his initial appearance in court Wednesday. Andrew Davis is facing multiple felonies including Robbery with Use of Force, Strangulation, and Bail Jumping.

Law enforcement was called to 241 South Madison Street last March for a report of a victim who was assaulted, and their vehicle stolen. The complainant reportedly identified Davis as the assailant.

According to the complaint, Davis asked for a ride but the victim said no because the 29-year-old stole his truck a week prior. The victim was able to locate the stolen vehicle and recover it.

On the day of the incident, Davis allegedly put the victim in a head lock and wrestled him to the ground. The victim reportedly said he began to lose consciousness when Davis took his keys and drove off in his vehicle.

If convicted, Davis faces up to 27 years in prison. A signature bond was set at $1,000 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for June 22nd.
