(Lodi) Columbia County authorities arrested a Madison teen following a high-speed chase on New Year’s Day. Sheriff’s deputies were called to investigate reports of someone rummaging through cars in the area of Arbor Valley Road in the township of Lodi around 11am Sunday.
Law enforcement located two suspicious vehicles, later determined to be stolen, which accelerated away. A pursuit that reached speeds of 115-miles-per-hour and lasted for roughly 15 miles ended when one of the suspect vehicles crashed near DeForest. The other vehicle continued on.
Deputies arrested a 14-year-old who appeared to be uninjured but was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. He is facing multiple charges including felony Eluding and Resisting. A search of the crashed vehicle also yielded ammunition and magazines belonging to firearms.
