Madison Man Makes Initial Appearance On Charges He Fled Dodge County Deputies

(Beaver Dam) A Madison man made his initial appearance in court Monday on charges he ran from Dodge County authorities. Conan Fox is facing a felony count of Fleeing. According to the criminal complaint, a sheriff’s deputy spotted a vehicle heading north on 151 near Highway 33 going nearly 20-miles-per-hour over the posted speed limit Sunday evening (September 26th). The deputy activated his emergency lights but the vehicle increased its speed, to over 100-miles-per-hour eventually reaching speeds in excess of 130. Waupun police were notified of the pursuit and set up spike stripes near Highway 26 which disabled the vehicle. Fox was allegedly identified as the driver. The 23-year-old reportedly said he fled because he did not want anything else to go on his driving record as he just recently got into a crash. If convicted, Fox faces up to three-and-a-half years in prison. A signature bond was set at $1,000 and a preliminary hearing is scheduled for November 11th.
