(Town of Elba) One person was killed, and two others were injured, in a in a two-vehicle collision Saturday afternoon in Dodge County. The crash occurred around 2:25pm in the Town of Elba. The initial investigation indicates that an SUV driven by a Burnett man was traveling north on County Highway T.
A northbound passenger car operated by a Madison man approached the SUV rapidly and attempted to pass on the left. The vehicles collided and the car drove off the left side of the roadway and overturned, ejecting the driver. The SUV went off the righthand side of the road and overturned.
The Burnett man driving the SUV and his passenger, a Burnett woman, sustained non-life-threatening injuries and were transported to Prairie Ridge Health in Columbus for treatment.
The Madison man driving the car was pronounced dead at the scene by the Dodge County Medical Examiner.
The crash remains under investigation by the sheriff’s office and the medical examiner. Assistance at the scene was provided by the Columbus Fire Department, Columbus Police, Lifestar EMS, MedFlight helicopter, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office Chaplain and Dodge County Emergency Response Team.
