Madison Man In Custody Following Break-In Of Beaver Dam Tavern

(Beaver Dam) A Madison man was arrested early Wednesday morning after breaking into a Beaver Dam tavern. Beaver Dam police were dispatched to Thirsty Beaver around 5:30am after an alarm was tripped. When officers arrived, they located a suspicious male suspect wearing a mask in the immediate area outside the bar. The suspect fled and briefly entered the lake. Law enforcement set up a perimeter and a K9 unit was utilized in the search. The 20-year-old was later located near 500 Madison Street and was taken into custody. Deputy Chief Scott Bahr says evidence at the scene suggests the tavern was forcibly entered. The suspect is facing charges of Obstructing an Officer and Bail Jumping. Bahr says charges related to the burglary are pending and that the male had five outstanding warrants from Dane County. The crime is still under investigation. Assisting the Beaver Dam Police Department was the Waupun Police Department K9 Unit, the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office and the Beaver Dam Fire Department.
