Madison Man Accused Of Running From Dodge County Authorities Enters Into A Plea Deal

(Beaver Dam) A Madison man charged with running from Dodge County authorities entered into a plea agreement this week. Conan Fox pled guilty to a felony count of Fleeing and misdemeanor charges of Resisting. The court found the defendant guilty of the misdemeanor’s but placed Fox into a deferred prosecution agreement. Meaning Fox will avoid a felony record if he stays out of trouble while on probation for two years.

A sheriff’s deputy spotted a vehicle heading north on 151 near Highway 33 going nearly 20-miles-per-hour over the posted speed limit last September. The deputy activated his emergency lights but the vehicle increased its speed to over 100-miles-per-hour, eventually reaching speeds in excess of 130.

Waupun police were notified of the pursuit and set up spike stripes near Highway 26 which disabled the vehicle. Fox was identified as the driver, according to the complaint. The 24-year-old said he fled because he did not want anything else to go on his driving record as he just recently got into a crash.
