Longtime County Board Supervisor Eugene Wurtz Stepping Down

(Juneau) There is a vacancy on the Dodge County Board. District 14 Supervisor Eugene Wurtz has stepped down from the Mayville-area seat. During Tuesday’s county board meeting, Clerk Karen Gibson read a letter from Wurtz explaining his reasons for resigning.

Wurtz writes that significant recent medical issues necessitated the move to an assisted living facility outside of the district he serves. He adds that he is proud of the actions the board has taken to make Dodge County a wonderful place to live and raise a family.

Wurtz says he would be willing to continue to participate on the Dodge County Housing Authority Commission. Wurtz had also served on the Audit Committee and the Judicial and Public Protection Committee since being elected last April.

County Board Chairman Russ Kottke says the seat will remain vacant until the spring election.
