(Lomira) A Lomira woman has won a national award. The Westminster Kennel Club in partnership with Trupanion, a leader in pet medical insurance, has awarded Dr. Marthina “Marty” Greer the second annual Veterinarian of the Year award.
Award organizers say Greer was given the honor because she has gone above and beyond caring for the animals in her community since her first clinic was founded in 1982 with her husband Dr. Daniel Griffiths. The online award launched in 2022 recognizes and celebrates the dedicated veterinarians who make a difference in pets’ lives.
Westminster is donating $10-thousand-dollars in Greer’s name to MightyVet, a non-profit industry-wide online platform founded to support veterinarians, students, and vet techs tackling mental well-being issues and continuing education in the veterinarian profession.
