Lomira School District Dismisses Students Following Nearby Hostage Situation

(Lomira) The Lomira School District dismissed students for the day following a hostage situation that took place near the school Monday. According to police reports, a man held his girlfriend hostage in the 300 block of Main Street prompting a school lockdown and subsequent dismissal. The police officer responding to the call asked for the lockdown due to how close the scene was to the school and information that the man may have access to firearms. The situation was resolved without incident and the 20-year-old man was taken into custody. The Brownsville Police Department also responded and the Dodge County Sheriff’s Office brought their drone in case it was needed.
